Our playgroup programme is a great way for your child to learn about the world, make friends and develop skills. Our classes also give mums, dads, grandparents and caregivers a chance to share ideas and experiences with others. Playgroup is a continuous program where our dedicated educators form strong bonds with the children and their families. This allows teachers to monitor, document and share the children’s developmental milestones and achievements with parents.
Avendale Education offers playgroups for children from 9 months to 2 years old in different languages including English, French and Mandarin.
Toddlers still need the comfort of their parent or carer to feel safe. For 75 minutes a day, two to three times a week, our playgroups bring the carer into the environment, allowing the child to gradually develop the confidence they need for a smooth and happy transition to attending regular nursery or kindergarten. It is also an opportunity for the child to develop socially with peers at our Reggio Emilia inspired learning environment. Avendale’s playgroups focus on free play and activities that promote creativity, motor development, awakening and awareness of its environment.
Aventots is a pre-nursery programme to promote kindergarten readiness and nurture independence in the child. Avendale offers children from the age of 9 months to 6 years the opportunity to engage in the creative exploration of diverse interests through our Creative Play programme. Through purposeful creative play, your child gains many developmental benefits and skills.
Each Creative play session will incorporate a variety of learning opportunities for children to engage in. These “hands-on” explorations may include storytelling, music, dance, visual arts experiences, sensory engagement, critical and creativity thinking, innovation and gross and fine motor play. They provide a wonderful opportunity for parents and children to discover our rich learning environment while developing skills, confidence and a sense of wonder and exploration.
The Creative Play calendar has been designed with flexibility in mind. Parents have the ability to consider a number of areas of investigations and the times and days that suit the family. Families can purchase single session voucher or a bundle of five in order to experience a wider range of Creative Play options. These sessions also include time exploring and enjoying our playground.
